Igwejiuba-Francis Foundation Empowers Imo-Born Girl with Culinary School Scholarship in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria – In a heartwarming act of community empowerment, the Igwejiuba-Francis Foundation (IFF) has sponsored a young Imo-born lady, Precious Chinwendu Iwuji, for a six-month professional chef training at a prestigious culinary school in Lagos.
The beneficiary, Precious, a native of Mbaitoli Local Government Area in Owerri Zone, Imo State, had been working at a shawarma spot in Isolo, Lagos, when she caught the attention of the Foundation through one of its outreach engagements. Moved by her resilience and desire to improve her life, the Foundation stepped in to change her story.
According to a statement released by the Foundation, Chairman Igwejiuba-Francis Ugorji personally oversaw the sponsorship process and fully funded her admission into El Royalithos Catering Institute, a well-known culinary and catering school located in Isolo, Lagos.
The Foundation paid a total sum of ₦820,000, covering registration fees, tuition, training materials, and other essentials required for the six-month chef program.
“This is more than just a scholarship,” said a spokesperson from the Igwejiuba-Francis Foundation. “It is a deliberate investment in human capital. We believe Precious has what it takes to become a successful chef and an inspiration to other young people from Imo State and beyond.”
Precious expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, calling it a turning point in her life. “I never imagined I would go to culinary school,” she said with tears in her eyes. “I’ve always loved cooking, but I had no support to pursue it professionally. I am grateful to the Igwejiuba-Francis Foundation for believing in me.”
This initiative forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and community upliftment, especially among indigenes of Imo State residing in other parts of Nigeria.
The El Royalithos Catering Institute, where Precious is now enrolled, is renowned for its industry-standard chef training, with alumni working in hotels, restaurants, and hospitality businesses across Nigeria and internationally.
According to insiders, the school occasionally offers promotional discounts, but in this case, the Foundation chose to pay the full amount without requesting any rebate — a testament to their belief in quality education and support without compromise.
The Igwejiuba-Francis Foundation has consistently made headlines in recent times for its grassroots interventions in education, healthcare, and women/youth empowerment, especially in Imo State. The Chairman, Igwejiuba-Francis Ugorji, continues to lead with compassion, vision, and a firm belief that giving people a chance to succeed is the best form of leadership.
As Precious begins her journey into the culinary world, her story serves as a powerful reminder that with the right support, hard work and determination can indeed yield transformational outcomes.
