In a bold demonstration of leadership and community service, Igwejiuba-Francis Ugorji, a respected political thinker and statesman in Imo State, has donated a fully completed building to the Umunwoha chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to serve as the party’s official office.
The new facility—strategically located in the heart of Irete—is fully furnished with offices, meeting spaces, and administrative amenities. More than just bricks and mortar, the building stands as a symbol of political vision, institutional development, and community-driven progress.
Addressing the media, Igwejiuba-Francis Ugorji explained that the donation is his personal contribution to institutionalizing democratic values and empowering the ADC at the local level.
“Our people deserve more than promises. They deserve political structures that are functional, accessible, and focused on the needs of the people. This building is not just about politics—it is about our collective future. It’s a foundation for ideas, planning, and service,” he said.
Known for his deep convictions, Igwejiuba has earned a strong reputation across Imo State for his principled stance on justice, equity, and accountable governance. As a leading voice in the Rebuild Imo Movement, he has repeatedly emphasized the need for leadership that is action-oriented and grounded in community realities.
“Politics must go beyond personality cults or empty slogans,” Igwejiuba added. “If we are truly committed to rebuilding Imo, we must begin by rebuilding the very structures that support honest dialogue, responsible leadership, and grassroots engagement.”
This donation, he said, marks a step toward practical and sustainable political development, where party members can operate from a dignified and equipped environment, rather than being relegated to open spaces or rented halls.
Leaders of the ADC in Imo State lauded the gesture, describing Ugorji as a visionary who matches words with action. They noted that his decision to donate a building to ADC in Umunwoha has redefined political generosity, not in terms of tokenism, but legacy infrastructure.

Ward leaders of ADC in Umunwoha could barely contain their excitement as they spoke to DSG Herald News.
“This is a game-changer. For years, we’ve conducted our meetings under trees or borrowed spaces. Today, we can confidently say we have a political home—a space for serious planning, organizing, and growth,”
According to party leaders, the new office will not only serve party operations but also double as a community development and civic engagement center, where empowerment workshops, youth seminars, and voter awareness programs will be held regularly.
This is not stomach infrastructure that ends in one day. This is a permanent gift to our political future—one that empowers us to organize, plan, and lead.
With this singular act, Igwejiuba-Francis Ugorji has etched his name not only into the fabric of Umunwoha but into the evolving history of responsible political leadership in Imo State.
